Bio:
Jenn has run her own web design / development company called Rosebud Designs since 2009, specializing primarily in front-end web development and WordPress development for clients of all sizes. She is a full-time instructor at the University of Southern California, teaching digital skills to students in the graduate program, and is also the in-house web developer for the journalism school’s Media Center. She was also a lead instructor at General Assembly Los Angeles, teaching HTML/CSS and JavaScript. Before starting her own company, Jenn spent 10 years in journalism as a sports reporter, copy editor, page designer and web producer. She started at the Orange County Register in college and has also worked at The News Journal (Delaware) and The Sacramento Bee. She has spent many years mentoring both journalism and design students, trained journalists in blogging and other web-based skills, and has taught various workshops about web design and development skills in both Sacramento and Los Angeles. She was also a mentor with the Asian American Journalists Association’s VOICES student project in 2011 and 2013, as well as serving as head of production for the project in 2013.
