Bio:

I’m ProPublica’s senior engagement editor, which means I work to grow audience and deepen community participation around our investigative news projects. Before joining ProPublica in 2012, I spent more than eight years as a digital producer and editor at The Washington Post. I worked with reporters, editors, photographers, video journalists, designers and others to create awesome digital journalism for the metro, foreign, investigative, foreign and national desks. I also built the Post’s first dedicated social media team. My other journalism adventures include my year+ helping to launch the nonprofit Huffington Post Investigative Fund (Google it) and my Knight Digital Media Fellowship at Ohio State’s Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism. I got my start in journalism at the University of Texas-Austin, and spent my early years reporting at The Daily Texan (Hook ‘Em!), the Austin American-Statesman, Roll Call and The Washington Post’s Austin bureau.
